Nina Dobrev (born January 9, 1989) is a Bulgarian-Canadian actress, singer, intrumentalist, and model currently living in Canada. She currently plays the role Mia Jones, the single mother on Degrassi: The Next Generation since the show's sixth season. She will star as Elena Gilbert in the upcoming TV series The Vampire Diaries, causing her to leave Degrassi early in the upcoming ninth season.
